THE MANILA SUNRISE
We have another Buy Us A Drink cocktail this episode, this time from our buddy Alex M. They said they’re honoring their roots with this drink.
This is basically a Filipino version of a Tequila Sunrise with vodka. For this cocktail you will need:
2 oz. (60 ml) vodka
1/2 oz. (15 ml) grenadine
As always, try to use the kind that is made from pomegranate
1/2 oz. lime juice
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) simple syrup
Fresh orange juice
Combine vodka, lime, and simple syrup in a shaker and shake with ice.
Strain into a large wine or Collins glass over fresh ice.
Top with OJ
Slowly pour grenadine down the side of the glass so, hopefully, it will sink and pool at the bottom and you get a nice variegation of color
Garnish with a slice of lime and orange, and a cocktail cherry.
