JIGGER, BEAKER, & GLASS
We have BUAD cocktails for the next few episodes, and this one comes from Bedigunz on our Discord channel. He wanted us to make just a wild Bloody Mary, specifically one with bacon and a full chicken wing on the top. It was basically an outgrowth of our talk on Discord about the Bloody Mary’s we all had at that bar in the Burbank airport on the way back from TFCon LA. And I feel like Bedigunz is specifically trolling me, because I hate the buffet of garnish that every restaurant bar wants to cram onto your drink. There’s like bacon, asparagus, ham, a cheeseburger and then just a whole side of ribs. It’s ludicrous and they have to be stopped. But here we are.
Just a preamble, you can, of course, use any BM premix you like. I kinda mixed my own up using V8, because I like the extra veggies in the tomato juice. I decided to call this:
THE BEDI-MARY
So for this cocktail you will need:
· 2 oz. (60 ml) vodka
· ½ oz. (30 ml) lemon juice
· 1 tsp prepared horseradish
· 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
o Or, in my case, the mushroom ketchup I like to make from Townsend’s recipe on YouTube
· Several dashes hot sauce to taste
o I used the hot sauce I made from the peppers last summer
1. Combine all ingredients except vodka in a tall glass and stir
2. Add ice to the glass
3. Shake vodka in a shaker with ice and strain into the glass
4. Fill with tomato juice and stir
5. Garnish however you want
a. I’d say celery and a lemon wedge are mandatory
