I really couldn’t resist doing a themed cocktail for this episode. We’ll get back to our Buy Us a Drink cocktails on the next show—incidentally we’ve gotten like 3 more since we last met—but in honor of today’s subject matter, we’re going to have:
PRIME ZOMBIE PUNCH
There are about a million tiny variations to this recipe. This is one of them.
· 1 ½ oz. (45 ml) Jamaican rum (Appleton Estate)
· 1 ½ oz. Puerto Rican rum (Bacardi)
· 1 oz. (30 ml) 151 rum (Lemon Hart 151)
· ½ oz. (15 ml) Don’s Mix
o 2 parts grapefruit juice
o 1 part cinnamon simple syrup
· ½ oz. Velvet Falernum
o A sugarcane rum-based alcohol with almond and clove flavors
· ¾ oz. (22 ml) lime juice
· ¼ oz. (7 ml) grenadine
· 2 dashes (or spritzes) absinthe
· 1 dash Angostura bitters
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.
Strain into a tiki mug over fresh, crushed ice
Garnish with a mint sprig and long for the sweet release of a cold, interstellar grave.
This cocktail is about 24% ABV.
