THE GORDON’S CUP
Today’s cocktail was created by Sasha Petraske, the late proprietor of NYC’s also late bar Milk & Honey.
For this drink you will need:
2 oz. (60 ml) gin
¾ oz. (45 ml) simple syrup
6 wedges of lime
6 cucumber slices
Add all ingredients except 3 of the cucumber slices and muddle in a shaker
Shake with ice
Double strain into a double rocks glass over a large ice cube
Garnish with remaining cucumber, and sprinkle with salt and pepper
There are several riffs on this drink. If you add a dash of Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce, it becomes a Gordon’s Breakfast. Use a smoky chipotle hot sauce and swap the gin for bourbon and you’ve got yourself a Square Meal.
