We have a Buy Us a Drink cocktail for this episode, gentlemen. From our friend Chandler. It’s a drink from a Tech N9NE song, the titular “Caribou Lou.” I hear it’s the ultimate party favor.
Tech N9NE kinda gives us measurements, but they’re pretty vague, he says, “Half a bottle of 151 in a jug, one cup of Malibu, fill the rest of the jug with pineapple juice.” Now, half a bottle is 375 ml, and one cup is 237 ml. I don’t think a “jug” is an official measurement, so I just guessed on the remaining amount.
CARIBOU LOU
· 1 ½ oz. (45 ml) 151 rum
o They don’t make Bacardi 151 anymore, so I used Lemon Hart 151
· 1 oz. (30 ml) cocoanut rum
o I used Cruzan, I really can’t abide Malibu, it’s just too sweet
· 3-4 oz. (90-120 ml) pineapple juice
o Combine rums in a shaker with ice, shake, and pour into a highball over fresh ice
o Fill with pineapple juice
o Could you combine all ingredients and shake like a normal fruit drink? Yes you could. Could you stir the drink? Could you just build it in the glass? Yes to all these, but this was the way I chose to do it for dilution and chilling.
So thank you, Chandler for buying us a fun cocktail. BUY US A DRINK!
