HARPER’S AERIAL ASSAULT COCKTAIL
I tried finding some kind of Halloween themed cocktail, but they’re all chronically awful and super sweet. I should have made up my own. But I didn’t.
Our friend Harper from @MTMTPod posted this cocktail on Twitter back in May, and I tried it back then and asked him if I could include it as one of our episode cocktails. The backbone of the drink is Ouzo, a dry, anise-flavored aperitif from Greece, which is about as close an approximate I could get for an easily accessible Middle Eastern cocktail.
· ½ oz. (15 ml) lime juice
· ½ oz. simple syrup
· 2 oz. (60 ml) gin
· ¾ oz. (22 ml) ouzo
· Splash of Angostura bitters
o Shake all ingredients with ice and then strain into a tall cocktail or Collins glass over fresh ice
o Top with tonic water
o Garish with a slice of lime
