#217: BEAST WARS PT1 - DAD, MAXIMIZE!

I wanted to make up a cocktail for this and our next episode, based on our new characters. The idea actually came from Kit and Harper, during our re-review of TF:TM with them back on our episode 182. Harper came up with the name for this one:

THE MEGATRON PURPLE POCO LOCO

It’s basically a tiki drink. Sort of like a sideways, more complicated daiquiri. This is a Jett original. For this cocktail you will need:

·         1 ½ oz. (45 ml) aged dark rum – I used Appleton Estate Jamaican rum

·         ½ oz. (15 ml) Lemon Hart 151 rum

·         ½ oz. Velvet Falernum

·         1 oz. (30 ml) lime juice

·         ¼ oz. (7.5 ml) simple syrup

·         ¼ oz. cinnamon syrup

o   Just toast some cinnamon sticks in a dry pan, then combine with equal parts by weight sugar and water, boom, you got cinnamon syrup; it’s used in a ton of tiki drinks

·         A dash of cocoa bitters

·         1 oz. of blueberry puree              

o   I made mine with 12 oz. (340 g) frozen blueberries

o   1/3 cup sugar

o   1 TBSP lemon juice

o   Combine in saucepan, BTBRTS* until thick like dessert topping

·         Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake with ice

·         Strain into a chilled coupe

*Bring to boil, reduce to simmer
