I went a little wild with this one. I know I’ve been talking a lot about the YouTube channel How To Drink, and I’m doing it again. At least for the first component of this cocktail.
This is the BLUSH BOMB COCKTAIL
· You guys know bath bombs, those sphere you put in your bath to make it fizz and smell good and fun
· Well this is that, but drinkable!
· To make the Cocktail Bomb component
o 7 oz. (200 g) citric acid
o 10.5 oz. (300 g) baking soda
o 14 oz. (400 g) sugar
o ½ oz. (15 ml) bitters of your choice
§ I used Angostura
o A few drops of absinthe (optional)
o 0.2 oz. (5 g) gum acacia
§ Not ESSENTIAL, but it’s a good stabilizer
o Form into 35 gram (1 oz.) balls and wrap in wax paper
§ It’s a little smaller than a ping pong ball
o This will make about 25 balls
· Cocktail:
o 2 oz. (60 ml) gin
o 1 oz. (30 ml) unsweetened cranberry juice
§ NOT cranberry cocktail
o 1 drink bomb
§ Combine gin and juice in a shaker and shake with ice
§ Drain into a cocktail glass
§ Drop in the cocktail bomb
§ Garnish with a rosemary sprig
· It’s very festive, cute, and fun
o And the flavor develops as the cocktail continues to fix and dilute
§ I like to add a few ice cubes halfway through, but it will get sweeter and more flavorful as it goes
DECEPTIKON COMPUTER BRAIN
Shockwave’s Sentinel robot was clearly a distant cousin of the NES R.O.B. accessory.
Moly Ringwald revisits her role in John Hughes’ movies in 2018. It’s a great read; check it out: https://www.newyorker.com/culture/personal-history/what-about-the-breakfast-club-molly-ringwald-metoo-john-hughes-pretty-in-pink
